Can you see it??? Chuck, CJ and I are very happy to let everyone know that we are expecting another baby! I can't wait to see CJ be a big brother! I will keep everyone posted as the months go by.
I have finally read your blog from beginning to now. You're right (one of your posts), it has made me cry. But it hasn't made me think of you as an unhappy person - I've cried because I have felt some bit of what my adopted daughter feels. I've copied a lot of it and sent it to her.
What would you say to a 16yo girl, adopted age 9 with 3 birth siblings (2 younger, and 1 who abdicated all responsibility as eldest and acted as a younger) and has all those attachment/ rebellion/ trust/ adoption issues? She has been living in a girls' home since January due to such self-destructive behavior that we didn't think she'd live to 18 at home.
What could anyone have done or said when you were 16-17-18 to get through to you?
Your blog is really a blessing, both to adoptive parents, and to adoptees. You were already in such a large family that maybe you never thought you were the "only one" with a story like yours, I don't know. I just know that my Maria feels validated every time she reads about someone with a past like hers. Thank you, and keep posting - both the good/happy and the bad/sad.
Congratulations Yolie - What a blessing you are to CJ and a testament to your mothers and YOUR hard work in overcoming what others have done. Your family is AWESOME! We still miss you as a worker - but know you are doing the most important work there is right now - MOTHERING! You are so AWESOME YOLIE!
